One of the biggest trends of the spring is knitting for newborns and toddlers. Whether for a baby of your own or one who isn't even imagined yet, newborn knits are perfect for knitters of any ability. The projects are typically small, providing a great opportunity to try new techniques. To that end, we have created a Baby Nursery, nestled right inside Loopy Yarns, to inspire and educate you on the best ways to knit and crochet for a baby.
In our baby nursery we are featuring a brand new yarn for Loopy, the Cascade 220 Superwash Sport. We are excited to be able to offer this lovely 100% Wool yarn. It is a bouncy soft fiber that is perfect for baby items, as well as garments for adults.
In addition to yarn, the Nursery is full of inspiring project ideas for both knitting and crochet. Visit the Nursery every week as we introduce new projects and samples to inspire you!

Sweater Workshop is perfect for all our sweater knitters, to gather, to get help & guidance and support you through your sweater project. Sweater Workshop meets every Monday from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Just come to work on your sweater (or other knitted or crocheted project) and feel free to bring any questions or slip ups that you just can’t quite figure out. This is a FREE service of Loopy Yarns. For the summer, we are just meeting the first Monday of every month (June 3, July 1 and August 5).
Special at Loopy Yarns: Master's Clubs:
On the second and fourth Friday of every month, the Knit Master's Club will meet. You can join this club at any time and it's designed to hone your knitting skills utilizing various techniques such as applique, intarsia, cables, intricate stitch patterns, entrelac, direction twist stitches, 3 dimensional motifs and more! Learn all this while making an afghan!!! There is an annual membership fee of $50 which includes up to 24 classes. You can join any time.
Crochet Master's Club meets the first and third Friday of every month and also uses afghan squares to hone your skills. The afghan is called Chain Reaction from Interweave Crochet. The annual membership fee is $50 which includes up to 24 classes. You can join any time.
The latest in addition to this group is Knit Sock Master's Club and meets the first and third Friday of every month. Challenge yourself to knit 12 socks over 12 months in this year long sock knit-along; try new patterns, constructions, and fibers! Bring your own pattern or Stephen will help you choose one to expand your skills. There is an annual membership fee of $50 which includes up to 24 classes. You can join any time.
Speed Up Your Sock Knitting
Exciting new service at Loopy Yarns: Sock Tubes! Drop off a skein of sock yarn and, three days later, it will be ready to pick up in a form we lovingly refer to as a Sock Tube. A sock tube constitutes the most time consuming step of sock knitting - namely the leg and foot. We transition the yarn to a tube, you add a heel, toe and cuff and YOU'VE GOT A SOCK! There is a nominal fee for this process ($10 if sock yarn is purchased at Loopy; $20 for all other sock yarn).
Gift certificates are always available for purchase in any denomination. They can be purchased over the phone and either mailed to the purchaser or recipient. A store credit can also be created from the purchase of the gift certificate.
Lunch Bunch with Vicki
Feel free to bring your friends . . . the more the merrier is Loopy’s motto . . . Lunch Bunch meets every Thursday from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. Bring a bag lunch and your latest knitting project from Loopy. You don’t have to be an expert knitter to attend! Vicki is on standby for free help, so bring any questions or slip ups that you just can’t quite figure out. This is a FREE service of Loopy Yarns!
Classes
A variety of new classes have been added to the schedule. We keep adding to it, so check frequently!
We carry a blocking board from the Ohio Table Pad Company. It is fantastic for blocking your knitting projects. The size is 33" by 51" but it folds up with a carrying handle to 33" x 25.5". Come check it out!
Have a Knitting Party!
We have created parties and classes upon request! We can work with you and your friends to create a class (or series of classes) or party to meet your needs. This could range from beginning knitting classes for a group of your friends to a project class for a knitting club. Maybe you all want to knit the same sweater or to learn to knit socks together. We can help!
